Romy Schneider

Born in Vienna in 1938 Romy Schneider started acting at the age of 15 and is best-known for her role as the Empress Elizabeth of Austria, or Sissi. She became engaged to Alain Delon in 1959 though later they separated. Hollywood credits include 'What's New Pussycat' (1965) acting alongside Peter O'Toole, Peter Sellers and Woody Allen. Romy Schneider died in Paris in 1982 and her tombstone bears her birth name Rosemarie Albach.
