More red carpet jewels from the Cannes Film Festival

Our coverage of the best Cannes Film Festival jewellery continues with the stars who have ruled the red carpet in recent days.

Cannes 2016 Day 2: Julia Rberts in Chopard

The film premieres and parties at Cannes continued apace, along with the onslaught of ever more glamorous red carpet jewellery.

Naomi Watts hogged the limelight at the premiere of Money Monster in a pair of one-of-a-kind Serpenti earrings from Bulgari’s new Mediterranean Eden high jewellery collection, alongside a Divas’ Dream ring. Wearing a silver-beaded Michael Kors dress, she forwent a necklace in favour of statement Bulgari earrings featuring a hexagon design inspired by the scales of a snake.

Amal Clooney chose to wear Cartier earrings set with coral beads, pearls, turquoise, onyx and diamonds.

Stepping out onto the red carpet to support her husband George Clooney, who plays the male lead in Money Monster, Amal Clooney turned heads as she struggled to control her thigh-split dress in the wind. The human rights lawyer looked as stunning as ever in a pale yellow Atelier Versace gown accessorised with a pair of Cartier coral earrings and bracelet from its Étourdissant high jewellery collection. The film’s leading lady, Julia Roberts, ditched the heels and went barefoot on the Cannes red carpet in a move that many interpreted as a protest against the film festival’s strict dress code. The lack of shoes didn’t detract from her classic film star ensemble of a black off-the-shoulder Armani Privé dress and Chopard jewellery, including a necklace from the Red Carpet collection set with a 52.76ct pear-shaped emerald.

Jessica Chastain at Cannes 2016 in a white gold and diamond Piaget sautoir necklace and yellow diamond ring.

American actress and Piaget brand ambassador Jessica Chastain channelled old-world Hollywood glamour in a 1920s-inspired beaded dress by Alexander McQueen, teamed with a white gold and diamond Extremely Piaget sautoir and a Sunny Side of Life yellow diamond ring.

As one of the main sponsors, Chopard is the Cannes Film Festival jewellery of choice for many stars, including fashion blogger Nicole Warne, aka Gary Pepper Girl, who wore a pair of Chopard emerald and diamond earrings, as well as a ring and three bracelets to the premiere of Slack Bay (Ma Loute). Chinese actress Zhao Tao also sparkled in a coloured gemstone necklace with matching ring and earrings from Chopard’s Temptations collection.

Kendall Jenner wore a pair of Chopard yellow and white diamond earrings with a matching necklace worn as a bracelet.

On the same day, former X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini made a colourful statement in a figure-hugging strapless Naeem Khan dress with her hair pulled back to show off a pair of chandelier earrings by de GRISOGONO. And reality TV star Kendall Jenner caused a stir at the premiere of From the Land of the Moon in a see-through Cavalli dress and a pair of shoulder-brushing yellow and white diamond chandelier earrings by Chopard. She had also wrapped a Chopard yellow diamond necklace around her wrist like a bracelet and finished off her Cannes jewellery with a diamond ring.

British singer Pixie Lott’s outfit drew comparisons to 1980s Madonna as she walked the red carpet in a pink dress by Dsquared and a glittering Chopard necklace set with more than 100 carats of white diamonds. She was accompanied by her boyfriend and English model Oliver Cheshire who donned a Chopard L.U.C. Tourbillon watch in 18ct white gold and a diamond-set bezel.

Rebecca Hall looked every inch the English rose at the premiere of Stephen Spielberg’s The Big Friendly Giant in a strapless Dior gown and a Chaumet cuff bracelet with matching earrings from the Hortensia collection.

Kate Moss epitomised glamour with a flowing red vintage Halston gown and glistening Chopard high jewellery earrings.

Supermodel Kate Moss looked amazing as she stepped onto the red carpet for the first time in 15 years to attend the premiere of Loving, together with sister and fellow model Lottie Moss. Kate wore a vintage Halston toga-style dress in a crimson hue, accessorised with diamond jewels from Chopard’s high jewellery collection. Livia Firth, founder of Eco-Age and wife of actor Colin Firth, cut a sophisticated figure at the same premiere in a cream-coloured Stella McCartney gown. She opted for a Chopard sapphire and diamond necklace with matching earrings and ring from the Red Carpet collection.
