Jewellery highlights Cannes Film Festival 2019

We look back at the most memorable jewellery moments on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2019.

Julianne Moore in Chopard jewels Cannes Film Festival 2019

The red carpet has been rolled up, the paparazzi have folded their ladders and the safes full of jewels have been hoisted out of the hotel suites and on their way back to home. But the glamour of the Cannes Film Festival 2019 lives on in these images of some of the most beautiful women in the world wearing the most fabulous jewels.

Chopard’s jewels have long dominated the Cannes red carpet thanks to the Swiss house’s pioneering presence at the festival and the ensuing close relationship with the event’s organisers as the official jewellery sponsor. Since 1988 Chopard has made the Palme d’Or, the prestigious prize awarded to the best film and in 2014 first used Fairmined gold in its manufacture. Chopard has the largest suite of all the jewellers that take space in the hotels along the Croisette. Its rooftop terrace is the gathering place for celebrities, clients and most importantly, stylists who choose jewels for the daily red carpet and numerous photo calls. This season Chopard was the jeweller of choice for Julianne Moore, Andie McDowell, Adriana Lima, Chinese Actress Guan Xiaotong and many more including Elton John.

De GRISOGONO is another strong player on the Cannes red carpet and this year adorned Dua Lipa, Eva Longoria, Natasha Poly and many others. Bvlgari has been increasing its presence over the past five years with Bella Hadid at the forefront of the Italian jeweller’s red carpet foray. Boucheron enjoyed some stellar moments  with Winnie Harlow and Natasha Poly wearing their jewels with great personal style and individuality. Pomellato is also making itself seen at Cannes and had a slew of celebrities including brand ambassador Chiara Ferragni, Pamela Anderson and Madison Headrick stepping out in their creations.

And what a coup for newcomer Nigora Tabayer whose Eye Collection jewels were spotted on super-model Eva Jovovich as well as Rebel Wilson and Elsa Hosk. Messika was also present, as this Paris-based diamond house gains a larger international presence.

It will be another year before we have the next dazzling show of jewellery at Cannes so enjoy looking back and our stories of past red carpet moments in the section below.
