Gemfields brand ambassador and new mum Mila Kunis has designed an emerald ring that celebrates motherhood and will raise money for charity.

Working with iconic Italian jeweller Marina B, the actress helped create the gold ring, which is set with a Gemfields Zambian emerald in the signature Marina B cut.

All profits from sales of the US$4,800 ring will go to the Nkana Health Center near Gemfields' mine in Zambia, where the money will be used to improve facilities and construct a maternity unit.

Paul Lubetsky, CEO of Marina B, said that while the ring was created to celebrate the arrival of Mila's son Wyatt, it would also introduce the jeweller to a new generation of women.

Established in 1978 by Marina Bulgari, whose grandfather founded the famous Bulgari jewellery brand, Marina B's jewels have been worn by screen legends Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor. More recent fans include Alicia Keys, Faith Hill, Jennifer Lopez and, of course, Mila Kunis.

As the world's leading supplier of responsibly sourced coloured gemstones, Gemfields regularly works with both new and established jewellery designers.

The company has previously collaborated with Marina B on a collection of emerald jewellery, and the new emerald ring is a logical progression of that partnership. "It was only natural that we would want to collaborate on a piece for our brand ambassador, Mila Kunis, as she starts her journey into motherhood," says Ian Harebottle, CEO of Gemfields. "Not only is the ring beautiful but it furthers our commitment to social responsibility."

The ring is available to order from the Marina B flagship store in New York City amd through the brand's website.
