The Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman looks completely at home wearing her new Omega Ladymatic, but then she should - she has been the face of the Ladymatic collection since its launch in 2010.
New Omega Ladymatic models were one of the main focusses of Omega at Baselworld this year. When it was first unveiled to the public, Omega had ambitious plans for the Ladymatic. One of the brand's first self-winding watches to be designed exclusively for women, it combined a fashionable design with an impressive mechanical movement, including a co-axial escapement for greater precision. The smallest automatic movement Omega had ever made, the collection was aimed at the discerning female who appreciates the art of watchmaking.
Less than three years later, the Omega Ladymatic has become one of the brand's best-selling women's watches. To celebrate its success, new models are being launched this spring, alongside an international advertising campaign featuring Nicole Kidman, photographed by renowned international photographer Peter Lindbergh.
The new Ladymatics for 2013 include a range of bi-colour models, which contrast steel and either red or yellow gold for a look that remains a true classic in watchmaking. The prettiest models feature a snow-set diamond-pavéd bevel - a method of diamond setting that plays on variations of size to produce a unique arrangement of diamonds on every watch.
