Carved aventurine and emerald mismatched earrings

These one-of-a-kind Courtesan earrings from British jewellery designer Tessa Packard tap into the trend for mismatching in the most subtle of ways. Encased in cages of yellow gold, pavé set with black diamonds, two hand-carved aventurine cabochons give these earrings an Eastern air. It is the drops where the asymmetry becomes more evident: one is set with a smoky quartz baguette and an octagon emerald; the other a line of pavé black diamonds, ending in two sparkling green tourmalines.
