Georgian imperial topaz demi-parure

The colour is bold and creates the focal point on Simon Teakle’s Georgian imperial topaz and diamond demi-parure. Rectangular-cut topaz are suspended from tapering open scrolls and delicate diamond set into silver foil back, with bullet topaz tops for the earrings in the set. The matching girandole pendant in silver-topped gold can be worn as a pendant or brooch – it has fittings in the back for both. The elaborate design, when worn as a pendant, can be placed, as it was in the period, on a black ribbon for a dramatic choker or on a chain and worn longer with shorter layered necklaces. English, circa 1780.
