Watch out for those sharp corners - geometric jewellery is everywhere right now.
With a nod to the elegant lines of art deco, designers are fully embracing the trend and giving their jewellery a clean, polished look.
Paolo Costagli's award-winning Brilliante Sexy necklace, featuring tessellating gold shapes and diamond accents, is necklace enough for Cleopatra. And with ancient Egypt in mind, the Pyramid ring from Parulina is satisfying in its bold black and white symmetry.
Wearable simplicity is the hallmark to much of Anita Ko's jewellery, including her Triangle ring in rose gold and diamonds, which highlights another current trend, negative space.
Mikimoto, meanwhile, shows a bolder side than the one we are used to with its new World of Creativity collection. The Morning Star ring sets a perfect cultured South Sea pearl against angular diamond pavé lines.
You can always expect something with a sharp edge from Stephen Webster, and he does not disappoint with the new Lady Stardust collection, inspired by David Bowie's lightning-striped alter ego, Ziggy Stardust. The Lady Stardust earrings, featuring chevrons in white diamonds and graduated amethysts, create a look that is both elegant and playful.
AS29, designed by Belgian jeweller Audrey Savransky, also displays the influence of the British music legend with the dramatic lines of her Bowie necklace in monochrome diamonds.
Meanwhile, baguette-cut gems - a trend we covered earlier this month - lend themselves naturally to the geometric trend. At the Couture Show Las Vegas earlier this month, New York designer Nam Cho took home first prize at the Couture Awards in the coloured stones over $20,000 category for her vibrant take on geometric: a pair of detachable and convertible earrings with kyanites, blue sapphires and diamonds.
Finally, Coomi reveals the softer side of geometric with her slightly offset Mozambique ruby tiled statement earrings.
