This Flying Tourbillon is Louis Vuitton’s first watch to be awarded the prestigious Poinçon de Genève, or Geneva Seal - an independent board that examines the manufacturing and finishing of the entire watch. This skeletonised watch features a flying tourbillon and a vertically aligned movement, creating a sense of weightlessness and open space. The 41mm palladium case, which reconciles a circle and a square in a totally novel way, displays polished and brushed surfaces, and sits beautifully on the wrist thanks to the short plunging lugs. Positioned at 6 o’clock, the 60-second flying tourbillon completes its rotation as the iconic letter V on the tourbillon carriage appears to materialise before your eyes. The smoked sapphire disc, with the hours and minutes and V-shaped indices at the quarters, affords a view of the barrel and gears, enhancing the transparency and overall lightness of this watch. Inside the case, the manual-winding LV104 calibre, built and decorated to the standards required by the seal, keeps the watch ticking for 80 hours and is visible from both the front and back.
