The exhibition 'Cartier: Style & History' currently showing at the Grand Palais in Paris is the perfect place in which to immerse yourself completely in the history of jewellery design and style spanning a century and a half.  Six hundred jewels trace the history of whims and fancies of the world's wealthiest men and women, and what delighted them in different eras.

And many of these glittering jewels, watches and precious items tell fascinating stories, often close to the heart. As the leading jeweller to royalty, celebrities and the wealthy, it is to Cartier they turned when they needed a special something to present to their beloved.

Take a closer look at the jewels of Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Deitrich and Mrs Cole Porter, which were given as tokens of love. Each piece tells a story as passionate as the couple with whom it will forever be associated.
