The Chanel Boy.Friend watch is designed to look like a man’s watch but appeals to women, and is very much in keeping with the spirit of Coco Chanel. As a trailblazer, the legendary Parisian designer liked to borrow things from the masculine world and mix them with feminine touches, such as men’s baggy flannel trousers combined with pearls. This XL Boy.Friend watch (ref. H4315) comes in a beige gold case - an exclusive alloy confected by Chanel to honour Coco’s love of the colour beige - and recreates the octagonal shape of Place Vendôme. Its generous proportions, measuring 28.60 x 37mm, give it a nice manly feel, countered by a stepped bezel and canted corners to soften its impact. The sleek opaline dial with its recessed counters is the epitome of elegance and features a small seconds counter at 6 o’clock. The XL models of these Chanel watches are all equipped with a Swiss mechanical manual-winding movement.
