Bell & Ross watches are inspired directly by the world of aviation and the instrument panel inside a plane’s cockpit. The BR 03 Desert Type model was designed to meet the specifications of air forces operating in warm climates. Sand-coloured like the outfits worn by pilots on desert missions, the BR 03 is a perfect first officer on board, and is legible, functional, precise and water-resistant to 100 metres. The 42mm matte black ceramic case of the BR 03-92 model is resistant to high temperatures, acid, corrosion and erosion, and is also surprisingly light and comfortable to wear. The four screws in the corner of the case, similar to the front-mounting system of on-board instruments in a cockpit, ensure the water-resistance of the watch. The shape of the hands and the clear typography of the numerals are taken directly from analogue aviation counters and guarantee precision readings. The numbers and indices on the beige sand-coloured dial have been cut away to reveal a lower dial covered with black luminescent coating for visibility on night missions. Presented on a beige calfskin strap with an ultra-resistant black lining, this watch is equipped with a mechanical automatic movement to power the hours, minutes, seconds and date functions.
