MollyJewelryUS; made with love

From a grandmother’s bench to a small studio in Los Angeles County, founder Sherri Molly crafts pieces made to feel personal and enduring.

MollyJewelryUS may have launched in 2018, but its story begins much earlier, in the quiet presence of a grandmother shaping gold by hand. Founder Sherri — who uses the professional name Sherri Molly in honour of her grandmother Molly — remembers watching her craft one necklace every year until she turned sixteen, each piece imbued with the belief that jewellery should express rather than impress. That early understanding of jewellery and its power to evoke memories became the foundation of her own brand.

The idea took shape on a snowy day in 2018. Sherri, whose background was initially in music, found herself sketching jewellery and longing for work that felt more intimate, deliberate and lasting. She realised that designing carried the same rhythm and emotional cadence she once found in composing music. The shift marked the beginning of MollyJewelryUS, a small Los Angeles studio shaped by sentiment, storytelling and human touch. The brand operates today from Diamond Bar, a quiet residential corner of the city whose name happens, quite fortuitously, to echo her craft.

From the outset, Sherri gravitated towards a romantic, nature-led aesthetic. She speaks often of organic curves, soft lines and delicate detailing; of inspiration drawn from petals, branches and shifting light; and of designs that feel alive and warm rather than perfect or polished. Her pieces favour materials with visible character — moss agate with its natural inclusions, green sapphires shaped by gentle irregularity, and the bright clarity of lab-created moissanite. She describes her clients as dreamers and sentimental souls, couples drawn to creations that hold meaning rather than merely following trends.

Much of the brand’s early growth came through Etsy, where thousands of reviews helped shape a loyal community. Sherri credits this period with instilling a listening culture central to the brand today. Around 30 to 40 per cent of MollyJewelryUS pieces involve some degree of customisation, often beginning with a story rather than a sketch. She sees her role as translating those stories into form, creating jewellery that feels personal and symbolic to the wearer.

Each design is handcrafted by a small team of artisans, with Sherri overseeing every piece herself. She works primarily in 14-carat and 18-carat gold, often recycled, and chooses gemstones based on the values and preferences of her clients. Natural and lab-grown options are offered with equal care, with moissanite — a lab-created stone known for its diamond-like brilliance — appearing frequently in engagement rings. Moss agate and sapphire, meanwhile, support her preference for designs rooted in nature, emotion and quiet individuality.

Several pieces have become signatures: pear-cut moss agate framed by leaf-like curves; gender-neutral bands with subtle botanical engraving; marquise-cut moissanite rings paired with softly contoured bands; and green sapphire designs inspired by the imperfect lines of the natural world. Sherri refers to the spirit behind these pieces as the idea of a “Molly Ring” — a ring that captures love, legacy and thoughtful craft, whether or not the design carries that name.

In an increasingly crowded bridal landscape, she believes MollyJewelryUS stands apart for its sincerity. Every message, drawing, modification or reassurance is treated as personal, not transactional. Looking ahead, she imagines capsule collections, artist collaborations and deeper storytelling, all while keeping the brand intimate, warm and human.

Asked to summarise the essence of MollyJewelryUS, she offers a single sentence that feels entirely in keeping with the images that illustrate her work: love you can hold.
