Kate Middleton wears Cartier Halo tiara

All eyes were on Kate Middleton's dress as she walked down the aisle but I was more interested in what was on her head. It was a Cartier 'Halo' tiara lent to Kate by the Queen.

Boucheron London Competition of good wishes to the Royal Couple

All eyes were on Kate Middleton's dress as she walked down the aisle but I was more interested in what was on her head. It was a Cartier 'Halo' tiara lent to Kate by the Queen. Here is the official verdict from Cartier - sent to me via SMS - about the tiara: "Halo Tiara 1936 lent to Miss Middleton by the Queen. It was purchased b the Duke of York (later King George VI) for his wife (later Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother) 3 weeks before he succeeded his brother as King. The Tiara was presented to Princess Elizabeth (now the Queen) by her mother on occasion of her 18th birthday." I am dying to know if it was made by Cartier in London as the house was very active in tiara-making at this time. Will keep you posted.
