Tough love: Hannah Martin exclusive interview

Hannah Martin joins Maria Doulton from her East London showroom to reveal her edgy but luxurious gender-fluid jewellery with a story to tell.

Hannah Martin brings an edgy, rebellious swagger to fine jewellery with studs, shackles, spurs, rope and screws. To give you an idea of her uncompromising approach, one of her early collaborations - called Albion Trinketry - was with hell-raiser Peter Doherty of the band Babyshambles. East London cool is elevated to luxurious new levels with an exquisite attention to detail and craftsmanship where generous, weighty curves of gold meet pearls and diamonds in gender-fluid jewels.

Finely balanced between provocation and opulence, Hannah Martin has made a name for herself with a new style of renegade glamour. Hannah Martin founded her jewellery brand in 2006 after studying at Central Saint Martins and working at the bench with Cartier in Place Vendôme where she learnt the discipline of craftsmanship from the most accomplished masters of their trade.  The Jewellery talks to Hannah Martin on Instagram Live in the Tea with Maria series of designer interviews.
