Just off Place Vendôme, on Rue de la Paix, Mellerio dits Meller unveiled two spectacular jewels to celebrate the end of Paris Couture Week. The showstopper was an enormous white diamond floral collar with a large detachable bloom at its centre. When removed, a white diamond stalk swings around to conceal the point from which the flower was released.

The oldest family jeweller around, it is Mellerio dits Meller's 400th anniversary this year,  and far more will be unveiled by the brand in July during the city's bigger mid-year couture week. Any visitors should ask to be shown to the company archives downstairs, where order and design books dating back to its beginnings are housed.
