Montblanc has teamed up with Harrods to bring something very special to the high street: the Montblanc virtual pop-up art store, which runs until 24 November. With smartphones so commonplace nowadays, Montblanc and Harrods have created a technological first, not only for themselves but, most likely, many of their customers. By downloading their Augmented Reality app, Aurasma LitE, you'll be able to view a wide selection of artworks exclusive to Montblanc. All you need to do is head down to the Montblanc Harrods window, point your smartphone at the display and, using the app, you'll see a piece from the Montblanc Cutting Edge Art Collection appear on your screen. The artwork 'on display' features Montblanc's own Young Artist World Patronage Project - a collection of creative minds who have interpreted the Montblanc logo and turned it into one-of-a-kind artworks.
In the run-up to Christmas, Montblanc is also running a promotion in-store at Harrods: buy four products that are exclusive to the UK. The highlight of the lot must be the Princesse Grace de Monaco Haute Joaillerie collection, which has never before been seen in its entirety in the UK. Montblanc's horological prowess is on display in the Montblanc Timewalker Twinfly Chronograph Greytech. Limited to 888 pieces, this exclusive watch costs £9,500, with satinated and shot-blasted titanium, domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating, a shot-blasted titanium case back with sapphire crystal and a grey alligator strap.
Also exclusive to the UK are two jewellery pens, fine examples of Montblanc's legendary craftsmanship. The Masters for Meisterstück L'Aubrac pen is limited to just eight pieces, each of which costs £43,000. Made of ebony wood, each tip is decorated with diamonds, set in solid white gold. The Montblanc Mozart Jewellery pen is limited to 10 pieces and costs £51,600. Also featuring a solid gold tip, the Mozart is set with 361 diamonds totalling 1.18ct.
