Rankin Swatch watch

Eye balls stare out from the new  Swatch watches, created by Rankin,  the famous London photographer and cinematographer. Always challenging the ordinary, Rankin brings a fresh pair of eyes to the plastic watch.

The five Rankin Swatch watches that make up the Limited Edition set of five for £190.50 sold in a box set - collectors have started to snap these up.

Eye balls stare out from the new  Swatch watches, created by Rankin,  the famous London photographer and cinematographer. Always challenging the ordinary, Rankin brings a fresh pair of eyes to the plastic watch. Close up shots of eyeballs adorn the dials of Rankin's watches created for Swatch, the brand that put art and fun back into time. John Rankin Waddell, as his passport reads, lives in North London and with his photography, films and the magazine he founded "Dazed and Confused" has imprinted his powerful look onto the consciousness of our generation. From countless covers for Vogue and the top glossies, to his campaigns for Oxfam in countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania, his work covers everyone from royalty to refugees.  But what unites them all is an intimacy and understanding of his subject and a flash of an insight into the lives of others. The Rankin Swatch plays with this idea of intimacy, taking it to an extreme level: after all you rarely see so closely into anyone's eyes. By doing so Rankin converts the iris into a fascinating landscape of surreal complexity and colour. Swirls of beautiful colours and waves of texture mesmerise - and all this on the dial of a plastic watch.

Help us make the future bright

Since founding The Jewellery Editor in 2010, we have grown our digital magazine to be the number one global source of information and inspiration for fine jewellery and luxury watches.

3,500 articles, 150 videos with over 5 million views and a reach of over 2 million per month on social media later, we have offered unparalleled and highly respected coverage of our sector. However, despite our editorial success, we are financially struggling as an independent publisher.

Entirely funded, owned and run by Christine and Maria in London, we are now looking to sell The Jewellery Editor so that it can continue to grow. As e-commerce becomes a priority in our industry, we believe there is huge potential for engaging editorial content and are seeking a buyer who shares our values and passion so that under their guidance we can give a bright future to the platform and help us grow our business to the next stage.

If you are interested to discuss the above, please contact [email protected]

Alternatively, if you are willing to help, you can donate so that in the meantime, we can continue to publish more interesting content.
