As well as the eye sockets set with 0.70cts of pink sapphires or 0.60cts of blue sapphires, the rings feature intricately detailed facial contours and a flower cut-out motif on the shank. Inspired by Buddhism and Eastern traditions, Buddha Mama jewellery is a brand built from Nancy Badia’s kitchen table in Florida to raise money for her local Buddhist centre. Several years and collections later, Buddha Mama has grown into a fully fledged jewellery line, stocked by stores all over the US, but the brand remains committed to donating part of its proceeds to local charities.
