As part of its 2013 collection, Pomellato has added some intricate new jewels to its existing Victoria collection. Named after Queen Victoria, the Victoria collection was inspired by her all-black jet mourning jewels and the intricate lace patterns of the time.

Unusually for the colourful Italian jeweller, the collection has been designed with a completely monochrome colour palette. Since 1967, Pomellato have been creating fun jewels with vivid colour and gemstone combinations, though the new Victoria jewels use only black, white and rose gold materials, in keeping with the other designs in the collection. Distinguished by its openwork techniques and use of unusual materials, jet and agate have been worked into earrings, pendants and rings, alongside black diamonds, pyrite and rock crystal.

For earrings and pendants, charcoal black jet and bright white agate are worked into delicate floral patterns, reminiscent of lace. A white agate pendant and earrings suite give the impression of delicate white broderie anglaise, both set in warm rose gold, while their darker counterparts have a gothic edge, combining black jet and black diamonds with cross motifs.

In keeping with Pomellato's trademark style, the new Victoria jewels are stylish and easy to wear. The dramatic, oversized cross pendant is lined with a fine rose gold leaf, allowing the pendant to be worn on both sides for two different looks. It can also be transferred from a casual black cord to the more formal Victoria gold chain with elongated oval links and a small rock crystal and pyrite charm, if desired.
