De Beers has unveiled eight spectacular high jewellery pieces that complete its elegant and dramatic Aria collection.
While still incorporating the distinctive swirls of the original collection, the use of dark blue aventurine adds another dimension to these unique jewels.
A new material for the jeweller, the deep-blue tone was inspired by the De Beers Millennium Blue, which in turn reflects the colour of the famous Millennium Star diamond. Each facet of aventurine has been hand-carved to fit seamlessly into the design and mirror the curves of the diamond swirls that radiate from the central stone.
Its dark colour contrasts beautifully with the sparkle of the white diamonds to bring a heightened sense of drama to the new De Beers jewellery pieces. Reminiscent of the movements of a graceful dancer, the layers of pavé diamonds create a rhythm of light around the centre diamond.
The De Beers Aria High Jewellery Unique collection comprises a ring, cuff and earrings as well as a magnificent necklace that features graduated swirls curling all the way around the neck. The new additions will sit alongside the existing De Beers Aria collection, which includes Signature and Prestige creations as well as De Beers watches for women.
Hollie Bonneville, head designer at De Beers, says: "This is the ultimate creative expression of the Aria collection revealed in all of its power and grace. The rich combination of deep, mysterious blue aventurine contrasts with the pure brilliance of the diamonds, bringing a dramatic choreography of movement, life and light."
