With just over a week to go until 15 March, we have lined up some Mother's Day ideas for fashionable mums who like their designer jewellery to make a bold and original statement.

Designer necklaces make fabulous Mother's Day gifts and Astley Clarke has just added these diamond-studded, yellow gold Rising Sun pendants to its Muse collection. Alternatively, show your mum she's still number one with this playful necklace by Alison Lou, featuring a hashtag in black enamel and a diamond-embellished digit.

A pair of diamond earrings with a contemporary twist will add a sparkly edge to any outfit. Los Angeles-based jewellery designer Anita Ko creates unique luxury jewellery for modern women, and the double-fan diamond earrings in fashionable rose gold are no exception.

With its sharp geometric lines and pyramid-shaped centre stone, the Tetrahedron ring by minimalist jeweller Kattri tops our list of unique Mother's Day ideas. Another strikingly modern piece that plays with negative space, Alexandra Jefford's emerald necklace is part of the designer's Urban collection, which celebrates simplicity and organic forms.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Lupita Nyong'o and Amy Adams are all fans of Solange Azagury-Partridge jewellery. The London-based designer is renowned for her innovative creations. With pavé diamond gold bows spilling out from fluffy, white, mother-of-pearl clouds, her Rain Bow earrings take fun and imaginative design to the most luxurious level.
