Mila Kunis seems to be the girl of the moment and is appearing at premieres around the globe following a rigorous schedule of launches for her latest film, 'Oz the Great and Powerful'. In the movie she plays Theodora, the Wicked Witch, alongside James Franco, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz. Add to this the fact that the Ukranian-born actress has just been named ambassador of Gemfields - the world's leading coloured gemstone producer, with emerald mines in Zambia and ruby mines in Mozambique - and it all adds up to lots of exquisite colourful jewellery ready to be snapped and 'papped' and shown to the world.
This week there were two Mila sightings, not on the classic red carpet but a yellow brick road, rolled out to remind us that this new film is inspired by the original 'Wizard of Oz'. Mila Kunis glowed in Moscow at the premiere of 'Oz the Great and Powerful' wearing Gemfields Mozambican ruby studs and an eyecatching ring by New York jeweller Katerina Maxine, known for her classics with a twist. Later in the week Mila stepped out onto the yellow brick road carpet in London for her next premiere wearing Gemfields Zambian emeralds. The large ring was designed by another New York jeweller, Alexandre Mor, who makes both one-of-a-kind statement jewels as well as what she describes as 'demi-couture', which allows a degree of personalisation. The flashes of green amongst Mila's long hair were courtesy of edgy London jeweller Dominic Jones' earrings, which use Zambian emeralds to great effect.
