Japanese pearl company Mikimoto has delved into its rich archives to create 20 one-of-a-kind pieces for its high jewellery collection Regalia.
Yoshio Sato, chief creative director for Mikimoto, says: "Mikimoto Regalia celebrates our rich and illustrious heritage. Each piece is expertly crafted and symbolises Mikimoto's timeless elegance."
Widely regarded as the world's foremost supplier of cultured pearl jewellery, the new pieces exhibit the beauty and attention to detail that have won the company worldwide recognition.
The Regalia Arabesque features White South Sea baroque pearls entwined in white gold, platinum and diamond-set foliage. An elaborate necklace and ring, set with a single pearl, boasts petals in the form of pear-shaped diamonds along with marquise-cut diamond leaves.
The Regalia Akoya Cascade necklace is a true statement piece with streams of shimmering round brilliant cut diamonds emulating the cascading ribbons of waterfalls.
Meanwhile, the golden pearls on Mikimoto's Regalia Golden Cascade necklace are reminiscent of the sun reflecting on soft bubbles in the water, which is represented by sparkling round diamonds and white gold chains. Living side by side in the ocean, pearls and corals are united in the Mikimoto Regalia Coral collection. Baroque South Sea pearls nestle in the clutch of diamonds and white gold, designed to mimic the antler-like branches of the coral.
