This week's Golden Globe Awards have set the bar high for red carpet jewelry in 2015. Watching the stars of the big and small screen walk down the red carpet decked out in a glittering array of glamorous high jewelry certainly helped chase away the January blues.

Livia Firth, Eco-Age founder and wife of actor Colin Firth, sparkled in Chopard jewelry, including a pair of pear-shaped diamond drop earrings made from Fairmined white gold. The earrings are part of the Green Carpet Collection launched by Chopard in response to Livia's Green Carpet Challenge to get more ethical jewelry onto the red carpet. Livia also wore a heart-shaped diamond ring from the Swiss jeweler's High Jewelry collection.

Chopard's ethical jewelry collection, entirely made from Fairmined gold, has become a regular fixture at award ceremonies. Actresses Marion Cotillard, Léa Seydoux and Virginie Ledoyen have all worn Chopard jewelry made from Fairmined gold for red carpet appearances in the past 18 months, at events including the BAFTAs, the Cannes Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival. And Australian actress Cate Blanchett made headline news when she took home an award at the 2014 Golden Globes wearing Chopard earrings from the Green Carpet collection.

Ethical practices were also in the spotlight at last year's Cannes Film Festival when Chopard unveiled the first ever Palme d'Or award made from Fairmined gold.

By choosing to wear sustainable red carpet jewelry, these high-profile stars are sending a powerful message that ethics and glamour can go hand in hand.
