Biennale des Antiquaries: Graff Diamonds previews Royal Star of Paris brooch with a 107 carat yellow diamond

Graff promises a showstopping Biennale des Antiqaires 2014 with the Royal Star of Paris, believed to be the most valuable brooch ever created.

The Graff Royal Star of Paris - set with over 200ct of diamonds - is believed to be the most valuable brooch ever created.

Graff is synonymous with exceptional diamonds. And in the year that it returns to the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris after a 12-year hiatus, it is pulling out all the stops to show us why.

One of the many pieces of high jewellery that will be on display at the Grand Palais this September is the Royal Star of Paris, which is believed to be the most valuable brooch ever created. Diamonds weighing over 100.00 carats are extremely rare, but this piece incorporates not one but two heavyweight stones with a combined total of 271.33 carats.

In the centre of the brooch, the Graff Sunflower yellow diamond - a colossal 107.46 carat Fancy yellow cushion-cut diamond - shines its golden rays in all directions. This extraordinary gem is surrounded by an abstract pattern of pear and brilliant-cut diamonds.

But there is more. The icing on the cake is the pear-shaped 100.00 carat D flawless Graff Perfection diamond that cascades downwards from the brooch.

The collection of one-off Graff jewels on display at the Biennale des Antiquaires 2014 will also include a ruby and diamond La Biennale Suite. Incorporating a necklace, earrings and bracelet set with pigeon's blood Burmese rubies and white diamonds, the suite showcases Graff's superior craftsmanship and gemstone expertise to perfection.
