Prior to Sotheby's forthcoming Magnificent Jewels and Jaedite Autumn Sale in Hong Kong, Maria Doulton visited the auction house's Bond Street showroom to witness two of the world's most impressive diamonds first hand. The diamonds, a 118ct D colour flawless white diamond - the world's largest white diamond ever to come to auction - and the Premier Blue - the largest brilliant cut blue diamond ever certified by the GIA - were both on display for one day only in London before the auction in Hong Kong on 7 October.

The 118.28ct diamond is estimated to achieve between $28 and $35 million and potentially become the highest price ever paid for a white diamond at auction. The Premier Blue does not have an estimate, but the current price per carat record stands at $1.7 million for the 6.01ct sold by Sotheby's in Hong Kong in 2011.

With both diamonds likely to set new records, it was a remarkable event to have both the stones together in one place. To mark this special event, Maria caught up with Quek Chin Yeow, Deputy Chairman at Sotheby's Asia, who told us more about these two potentially world-record-breaking diamonds in our latest video.
