Indian jeweller Nirav Modi opens the doors to a new boutique in New Delhi featuring his iconic Embrace collection and new additions to his Orchestra collection.

The jewellery lovers of New Delhi have found a new address for exquisite diamond creations: the Nirav Modi flagship boutique. Situated in the upmarket Defence Colony area, it is Modi's first retail boutique in India.

Sprawled over 6,000 sq ft on two floors, the boutique has been tastefully designed by the Spanish artist-designer Jamie Hayon. The interiors, jewellery and window displays are typical Nirav Modi, with the emphasis on theatricality and attention to detail. Opening onto a luxurious ground floor with a colour palette ranging from black and grey to stark white, with flashes of the brand's signature vermillion red hue, the most eye-catching element is the mirrored ceiling, which makes the space look larger than life. Faceted like a diamond, a mirrored stairway leads to the first floor, with its dedicated bridal salon and a workshop where artisans craft jewels as customers look on. 

Modi has designed several collections to mark his transition from 'by appointment' jeweller to boutique owner. His bestselling Embrace collection, comprising bangles crafted from an astonishing 800 moving parts, has been redesigned in new patterns and finishes. New jewels in the Orchestra collection include a stylish bracelet and ring decorated with a contemporary floral motif and set with rose-cut diamonds.

The launch night saw a unique fashion show with not just models but also Modi's clients walking down the red carpet, dressed in jewels from his latest collections. Speaking at the event, Modi said: "It gives me great pleasure to launch a boutique in the heart of the country and close to people who I believe have always been appreciative of the Nirav Modi design ethos, craftsmanship, innovation, quality and rarity. We look forward to adorning every individual that walks through our doors and doing so in a way that makes it an unforgettable experience for her."
