Rubies

Ruby comes from the latin word rubeus meaning red, which these precious gemstones are all over. Variating from a cherry pink to a maroon brown rubies are the hardest stone after diamonds making them highly sort-after, however the highest-priced pieces are the ones in the strongest scarlet. The birthstone of July, these gems represent love, health and wisdom and were once believed to restore youth to one's skin.
