Chinese art jeweller Wallace Chan is making a rare appearance in London at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

On the evening of Monday 27 June, Wallace Chan will be at the V&A to launch his must-have autobiography, Dream, Light, Water.

Alongside award-winning jewellery historian Vivienne Becker, Chan will deliver a talk that is sure to delight anyone with a passion for jewellery, for Chan is a jeweller on a grand scale, who creates one-of-a-kind artworks in gems that are magical and wholly unique. Afterwards, Wallace will be hosting a Champagne reception for select guests.

Chan's spirituality - guided by his Zen philosophy - is at the heart of everything he creates, and each jewel has a story to tell, from The Pursuer, a brooch in the shape of a stallion that incorporates Chinese painting techniques, to the Sea Fairies, a pair of Paraiba tourmaline earrings inspired by seashells.

The conversation will delve into the philosophies and inspirations behind these astonishing creations, as well as uncovering the innovative carving and stone-setting techniques that Chan uses to turn his vision into bejewelled reality.

This one-off event is hosted by the V&A in collaboration with Rizzoli, the publisher of Wallace Chan's biography, and will be followed by an exhibition of 40 of his unique jewellery creations at Masterpiece London from 30 June to 6 July.
