Beauty meets innovation in two new engagement rings by British jeweller Andrew Geoghegan

Award-winning British jeweller Andrew Geoghegan launches two enchanting halo-style diamond engagement rings.

Andrew Geoghegan freely admits that it is the "pursuit for the perfect piece" that drives his creativity, and his two latest designs for his jewellery brand AG are no exception.

With a diamond that appears to float within its dark surround, his white gold Lacuna diamond engagement ring combines beauty with the ingenuity we have to come to expect from the man who was named Jewellery Designer of the Year by the British Jewellers' Association.

"Lacuna means space and it is a really fitting title for this ring," says Andrew, who works out of his studio in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. "We used a setting that is so incredibly fine that you can't really see it unless you are up close."

He stresses that the stone security is in no way compromised as it is set slightly below the halo surround to protect it from wear.

While the bride-to-be may have the final say, often engagement rings are chosen together by couples, and Andrew's pieces have unisex appeal. While the pretty intricate detailing enchants women, men are fascinated by the physics and ingenuity behind his designs.

The Lacuna engagement ring was launched as part of the brand's international debut at Inhorgenta Munich earlier this month along with another innovative design, the Cannelé Trois.

A progression on the original single stone Cannelé that was launched last year, this version features three stones in a fluted setting.  A beautiful design that pays homage to the classics, Andrew says that launching a three stone ring was a natural progression.
