Christmas is traditionally the time to really push the boat out and we have selected five fabulous necklaces that will solve some of your gift buying dilemmas, including this De Beers Aria diamond necklace.

Christmas is traditionally the time to really push the boat out and we have selected five fabulous necklaces that will solve some of your gift-buying dilemmas.

First up is the Boodles Blossom necklace in rose gold, very accessibly priced at £8,000. Set with 1.47 carats of round brilliant diamonds, it is a very feminine diamond necklace that makes a great statement on its own or it can easily be combined with other pieces from the Blossom collection.

Incredibly light and delicate, the Chaumet Hortensia necklace hangs fashionably low on a long chain (£2,030). The interlaced flowers are fashioned into an openwork rose gold ball, inspired by the round shape of the hydrangea flower.

Another pendant, this time from De Beers' Aria collection (£8,750). Here, a round brilliant diamond sits in the centre of swirling ribbons of white gold and diamond pavé. Aria was launched this year and is inspired by De Beers' reputation as The Jeweller of Light. If you look closely you can see how the alternating arcs create a dance of light around the diamond in this simply stunning necklace.

The Graff Icon collection straddles both the past and the present. Inspired by an incredible 'hair and jewel' image created by Mr Graff in the 1970s in which a model was photographed wearing a million dollars of diamonds and precious gems in her hair, it is the first time that the distinctive Graff logo has been translated into a jewellery collection. This platinum and diamond necklace features four overlapping Graff Icon shapes and comes in just on budget.

The rose is intrinsically associated with Piaget and in fact there is even a rose named after the brand's founder. The Piaget Rose collection was first launched in 2012 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Yves Piaget Rose and has now been extended to include more designs, including this fashionable sautoir-style Piaget necklace (£6,600) in rose gold. Measuring over a metre in length, it features six symmetrically placed roses with a diamond nestling in the centre of each.
