A trained jeweller and silversmith, British-born Francesca Amfitheatrof joined Tiffany & Co. jewellery a year ago, having previously worked for Asprey, Garrard, Wedgwood, Gucci and Chanel. Speaking of the new Tiffany T jewellery collection, she says: "I wanted to create a symbol for modern life and the relentless energy that flows through New York and drives art and culture around the world. This is just the beginning of what I want to accomplish."
As creative head for the entire company, Amfitheatrof is tasked with evolving all of Tiffany's product ranges. She has even hinted, in an interview with Vogue magazine, that the iconic duck egg blue packaging could be due for an overhaul.
The Tiffany T necklaces, bracelets, cuffs and rings have a minimalist aesthetic with a distinctive 'T' motif running through it. Modern and streamlined, the pieces come in rose, yellow and white gold, as well as sterling silver. Some of the pieces in the Tiffany T jewellery collection are embellished with diamonds, reminiscent of the twinkling lights in the city that never sleeps. The mix-and-match combinations are virtually endless, presenting the wearer with ample options to create her own look.
From the Tiffany T bangle to the elegant Tiffany T pendants, each piece is an icon in the making. With Amfitheatrof at the helm, the future for the 177-year-old jeweller may not be duck egg blue but it is certainly guaranteed to continue to shine brightly.
