East meets west in Leyla Abdollahi's bold and beautiful jewellery designs. Strikingly dramatic, with a hint of darkness, these are jewels that appeal to stylish, sophisticated women who like their jewels with an edge.
Leyla Abdollahi launched her eponymous jewellery line in 2011 after completing a BA in Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design. She is widely regarded as one of the UK's most prominent up-and-coming jewellery designers and was nominated for Jewellery Designer of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards in 2012.
Constantly on the lookout for new materials to use in her work and always striving to push the boundaries in creative design, Leyla says: "I do not simply create jewellery, I create pieces for collectors who want something beautiful to enjoy and treasure."
Her newest capsule collection, Lust & Lure, draws its inspiration and colour scheme from the 1920s, in particular the elegant and sophisticated Art Deco style that flourished during the decade.
Using gems such as green emeralds, white diamonds and onyx, Leyla has created a collection with a more refined handwriting that still stays true to her unique design aesthetic.
With an emphasis on curves, the collection includes a stunning gold ring featuring baguette-cut emeralds and onyx, with white diamonds gently flaring out from the open circle. A double ring curves gently around the fingers with the two mirror image halves held together by a diamond-encrusted knot.
Going forwards, Leyla plans to launch a collection made from silver as well as continuing her international expansion, particularly in the Middle East, Asia and the United States.
