Fresh from its recent collaboration with fashion designer Manish Arora, Indian luxury jeweller Amrapali is heading over to the dark side with its new warrior-inspired collection.
The pieces in the Dark Maharaja collection bring to mind the bejewelled weaponry carried on the battleground in ancient times by Indian warriors fighting to protect their comrades. Decorative rather than deadly, these are jewels for modern punk princesses who aren't afraid to stand out from the crowd.
Sharp swords, spiky armours and clawed vajras - a traditional weapon of the gods in Hinduism - are recreated in silver and gold and encrusted with rubies and diamonds.
