Tiffany & Co's 2014 Blue Book jewellery collection - designed to showcase the jeweller's most magnificent pieces - bursts with pure, saturated colour.

With gemstones glistening in every hue, there is no mistaking the theme of the 2014 Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Collection. From sunny yellow and blazing red to vibrant blue and opulent purple, the latest Blue Book jewels burst with pure, saturated colour.

First launched in 1845, the Blue Book is an annual publication intended to showcase the jeweller's most magnificent pieces. Designed by Tiffany & Co. founder Charles Lewis as a means of communicating with his clientele, the Blue Book was the first mail-order catalogue to be distributed in the US. Over time, the book evolved from line drawings to glossy photographs and the cover changed from navy blue to the iconic Tiffany Blue that adorns the brand's boxes and shopping bags. In today's multimedia world, the printed catalogue is also accompanied by a digital version featuring more details about the jewels.

The jaw-dropping 2014 Blue Book Collection was unveiled at a star-studded event at New York's Guggenheim Museum last month. In keeping with this year's theme, Tiffany transformed the museum's distinctive rotunda into a dazzling display of colours. The 300 guests, who included Jessica Biel, Katie Holmes and Kate Bosworth, were also treated to a sound and light installation by the Leo Kuelbs Collection, which projected 3D images of Blue Book jewels onto the rotunda.

Blue Book highlights include a stunning Aquamarine Bow Bracelet. Inspired by archive sketches dating back to the 1930s and set with an emerald-cut aquamarine and diamonds, it certainly qualifies as a statement piece, as does the Fancy Vivid Pink Diamond ring. However, each piece in this prestigious collection has earned its place. From deep green emeralds and vibrant red spinels to bright yellow and blazing orange diamonds, every Blue Book jewel is a showstopper.
