Pretty in pink: Brazilian jeweller Brumani launches exquisitely pretty pastel jewels

Brumani thinks pink with its newest spring jewellery collections, featuring an array of pastel gems including rose quartz, pink tourmaline and morganite.

"Any colour as long as it's pink," proclaimed the cover of British Vogue this season, and the jewellery industry has not been slow to follow suit.

Pastels, in particular pink, are everywhere this spring, and one of the prettiest interpretations of the trend comes from Brazilian jeweller Brumani.

Set up in 2005 by brothers Eduardo, Emerson and Rodrigo Brüner, the trio have built on a family tradition of jewellery making that spans more than 50 years. Grandsons of Italian and German immigrants who arrived in Brazil in the mid 20th century, the brothers practically grew up in the jewellery factory founded by their father Antonio Carlos Brüner.

With stockists all over the world, Brumani's jewels marry classic and contemporary to create feminine pieces full of unusual colour combinations. Drawing on both South American and European influences, Brumani brings to life the "savoir vivre", or joy of life, that is integral to the Brazilian soul.

Celebrity fans of the brand include Jennifer Lopez, Kate Beckinsale, Penelope Cruz, Selena Gomez and Maria Sharapova.

In ethereal nude tones, mixed with stronger shades of pink, the Baobab Rose collection wowed visitors at this year's Baselworld. The jewels, which feature round diamonds, rose quartz and pink tourmaline all set on delicate rose gold, can easily be combined to suit the wearer's personal style.

Equally stunning is the Panache collection, which combines diamonds, morganite and smoky quartz with multi-coloured sapphires to create a subtle yet mesmerizing effect.

It is not easy to pick a favourite from such a pretty offering but a pair of pendant earrings with morganite gems and a rainbow of sapphire pavé that glistens in the light, are certainly a hot contender.

Pink may be the flavour of the season, but these are jewels to treasure for a lifetime and beyond.
