Since 1993, amfAR Cinema Against AIDS has been a key event in the Cannes Film Festival calendar. The annual fundraiser, held at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, is world-famous for its star-studded guest list and ability to raise unrivalled amounts of funds for amfAR's AIDS research programmes as celebrities dig deep for the evening's auction.
This year the event was a truly fashionable affair. Sponsored by designer Roberto Cavalli, it also featured Carine Roitfield as curator of the evening's pièce de résistance, "The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show". Guests were treated to a catwalk show of one-of-a-kind dresses and jewels, all inspired by the event's 'gold' theme - a tribute to the late Elizabeth Taylor.
As usual, numerous A-listers attended to show their support for the charity, parading some seriously stunning jewellery on the red carpet.
Sharon Stone, who was honorary host for the evening and is also on the charity's comittee, stunned in a white Roberto Cavalli floor-length gown. She accessorised with quirky de GRISOGONO accessories, including a High Jewellery starfish cuff, two rose gold bracelets and diamond encrusted earrings. She wasn't the only starlet who chose to wear pieces from the sexy Swiss jeweller. Heidi Klum, who also hosted the evening, paired her strapless Marchesa gown with statement emerald and diamond de GRISOGONO earrings, while Irina Shayk chose a large diamond ring to match her pink Elie Saab dress.
Chopard, of course, featured heavily among the red carpet jewels, accessorising a whole host of attendees, including (intake breath) Kylie Minogue, Dita Von Tease, Chanel Iman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Eva Herzigova and Jessica Hart. Pop princess Kylie wore a revealing low-cut Roberto Cavalli dress with floral diamond earrings, while Chanel, Dita and Eva also chose statement earwear for the occasion.
