Chanel's new Jardin de Camélias collection

Following Chanel's Haute Couture show at the Grand Palais in Paris, France's most esteemed fashion house opened the doors of its flagship boutique on Place Vendôme to show its new collection of high jewellery.

'Jardin de Camélias' reinterprets the iconic Chanel bloom in myriad ways, in the full spectrum of colour combinations, from bold black and white to ultra-girlish candy-hued oranges and pinks. The exquisite Camélia Solaire bracelet layers the warmest yellow gold leaves under a white diamond flower, interspersed with gleaming yellow diamonds, resulting in a piece that almost glows. But it was the Collier Camélia Ganse necklace that stole my heart, in classic Chanel black and white, and dripping with blooms in the most generous of lengths.

'Came´lia Coromandel' brooch in white and yellow gold, set with a 4.3ct cushion-cut yellow diamond, 324 brilliant-cut diamonds with a total weight of 6.8ct, 37 pear-cut diamonds with a total weight of 4.7ct, 3 marquise-cut yellow diamonds with a total weight of 1ct and 65 brilliant-cut yellow diamonds.
'Came´lia Origami' necklace in white gold, set with a 11.6ct pear-cut pink spinel, 328 brilliant-cut diamonds with a total weight of 7.9ct, 337 brilliant-cut pink and purple sapphires with a total weight of 9.7ct and 4 brilliant-cut pink spinels with a total weight of 4.4ct.
