Montblanc Worldsecond Photography Competition
Montblanc is renowned for providing writers
with the materials to create universes with its pens. Now,
Montblanc is asking you to capture the world around you in another
medium, with the new Montblanc Worldsecond competition and
project.
Inspired by the idea of capturing a
split second in time, the Worldsecond photo project is open to
everyone. Montblanc isn't simply asking people around
the world to take a picture - instead, it is asking everyone to
take their photo at precisely the same time. Using an exclusively
designed phone app featuring a unique countdown function,
participants in any country and any time zone will be able to
capture that second, wherever they are and whatever they are doing.
Each day between 1 November and the 30 December the app will warn
you when the minute to take your photograph is approaching. What
makes the idea so poetic is that, with as many people as possible
taking part, there is the potential to create a living, breathing
snapshot of the world.
The app has been designed for both
Androids and iPhones and, once taken, each image can be uploaded to
the worldsecond.montblanc.com website, after which
a vast world mosaic will be brought to miraculous life. So that
everyone gets the chance to participate, Montblanc is giving you 60
seconds in which to take a photo, so let your inspiration take hold
and get snapping!
In early 2013 the contest will come
to a close and a winner will be selected from each category on the
website (Worldsecond Photo and Worldsecond Gallery), who will win a
watch from the Montblanc TimeWalker collection. The Montblanc
Worldsecond mobile app will be available for Apple iPhone and
Android phones in November 2012.
