Lara Bohinc Palladium fine jewellery collection
Creative Director Lara Bohinc
of the eponymous jewellery and accessories house has ensured that
her new Palladium fine jewellery designs are in keeping with the
firm's exciting take on luxury. In parntership with the
International Palladium board, Lara Bohinc has designed two new ranges made
entirely of this precious metal. With her own brand fast expanding,
the 'Palladium Collision' and 'Palladium Fine Jewellery'
collections enhance her growing reputation as a luxury brand with a
contemporary look.
The 'Palladium Fine Jewellery' is
marked by an impressive architectural quality and large
proportions. "Palladium has empowered me to design a bold and
luxurious collection", says Bohinc. "The lattice formation provides
strength whilst allowing for the illumination of the pearls". The
collaboration is part of the 'Palladium Visions' campaign, in which
the International Palladium Board partners with artists, designers,
and jewellers throughout 2012. Although Palladium has been used to
make white gold jewellery since 1939, hallmarks for Palladium
jewellery were only introduced recently in 2010. Proportionally
much lighter than platinum, this renewed kid on the block is a
precious metal to be reckoned with. Bohinc has used the dynamic
lustre of this white metal to impressive effect. Inspired by the
complex structures of modern architecture, the jewels are a mix of
complex lattice work and bold curves that make big statements.
The choker is valued at £35,200
with a total of 7.15ct of diamonds and suspends a half orb pendant.
Inside these orbs is where the Palladium collection really
surprises by placing inside the structure a single South Sea pearl.
It's natural, soft shape and warm lustre contrasts with the
symmetrical perfection of the metal. The Palladium fine jewellery
ring replicates the orb motif and the orb is set with diamonds, and
once again a South Sea pearl moves freely within the cage. When
worn the orb sits to one side of the finger to reveal pavé set
diamonds across the top of the ring shank.
The Palladium cuff does not have a
pearl, but is set with 5.26ct of diamonds and its hinged structure
features a lock mechanism that secures the piece in
place. This collection will be available exclusively from
Harrods and Lara Bohinc's Sloane Street store, marking yet
another bold and confident collection from this luxury brand to
watch.
